After a disastrous international break which saw many of Liverpool’s main players pick up slight problems, Jurgen Klopp is edging towards having a full-fit squad available to him. The likes of Virgil van Dijk and Jordan Henderson were able to feature from the beginning of the 2-1 win against Crystal Palace despite missing their final international fixture. Klopp delivered an update on Tuesday, with Joel Matip the only player who is definitely sidelined. The German confirmed that Matip will undergo a second scan on a knee problem that has seen him missing since October. Dejan Lovren has been superb when filling in for the African, winning eight aerial battles against Palace [WhoScored]. Many Liverpool fans reacted to the news that Matip would be sidelined, with the majority questioning the problem and other setbacks from this season, and one even suggesting that his career is finished at Anfield – maybe a slight overreaction to the update.
