Former England international Darren Bent has heaped praise on Liverpool midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain for his recent form.

The 26-year-old has roared back to top form after injury in recent weeks, and has four goals in his last four games. After netting the winner over Genk on Tuesday night, Bent believes he is now undroppable.

“Since he’s come back from this major injury… he was a beast before this injury and it’s unfortunate.” he said on talkSPORT [06/11; 17:11]. “Since he’s come back, some of the goals he’s scored, his energy; it’s tough to leave him out.

“Jurgen Klopp’s got a big decision, because they’ve got very good midfield players, but he’s come back and just changed the whole dynamic. I think he’s one of the best midfielders in this country when he’s fit. He’s been unbelievable, the finish last night was exquisite.”

OPINION

Oxlade-Chamberlain looks very much back to his best at this point. The England international was out for a long old time, but he is finally fully fit and seemingly playing better than ever. He’s made the difference for Liverpool in recent weeks, netting three times in two games against Genk, as well as scoring a screamer against Arsenal in the Carabao Cup last week. The statistics show that the former Arsenal man has been sensational when he’s played this campaign. As per WhoScored.com, Oxlade-Chamberlain has scored four goals in just six starts, while he’s averaging 1.9 shots and 1.3 successful dribbles per game. His average WhoScored rating in the Champions League is 8.44. This is a big game player who always comes up trumps for Jurgen Klopp. The German missed his creativity and his goalscoring ability in midfield last season, and it’s been tremendous seeing him back in the team and at his best once again recently.
