Liverpool are reportedly in advanced talks to sign Bournemouth forward Ryan Fraser – but talkSPORT pundit Jason Cundy can see the Scotland international playing for Tottenham.

TalkSPORT reported on Monday that Liverpool are in discussions over a January move for Fraser, 25, as the attacker’s contract at Bournemouth expires at the end of the season.

Ex-Tottenham player Cundy believes that Fraser would be a good signing for Liverpool but has claimed that the Scottish ace could in fact be a signing that would fit in at Spurs.

“He’s the sort of player that Liverpool need if one of those players out wide [get injured],” said Cundy on Monday, as shown via talkSPORT’s official Twitter account.

“He’s got the raw minerals to step in. He’s quick with the ball, travels with it, he’s got brilliant delivery.

“It’s a no-brainer as far as I can see.

“The price tag won’t be expensive and he could sign for four or five years and they’ll still have a residual value on him.

“It makes perfect sense for me.”

Cundy added: “I’m not sure Arsenal or Manchester United need him right now but I can see him at Spurs – I can definitely see that fit.”

OPINION

Fraser has more assists than any other Premier League player since the start of last season but this term, the Scotland international has not exactly pulled up any trees on the south coast. Harry Wilson, who is on loan at the Vitality from Liverpool, has perhaps been more impressive than the ex-Aberdeen attacker, so it is a bit odd that the Reds are trying for this deal when Jurgen Klopp has seemed so happy with his current squad at Anfield. Do Tottenham need to have a look at Fraser if Liverpool’s talks reach a dead end? Mauricio Pochettino is bound to be desperate to lift his side out of the rut that they are in right now but it is hard to see how signing someone like Fraser will improve things. Spurs could do with the extra quality in the wide areas but Fraser does not seem like a massive improvement on what they already have. Fraser would be a good back-up option for Liverpool and Tottenham. But Liverpool could do with better back-up options while Spurs need players who will get into their starting line-up.
