Liverpool defeated Genk 2-1 on Tuesday in the Champions League, and one player who stole the hearts of many Reds fans was Trent Alexander-Arnold. Granted the right-back likely already was in the hearts of the majority of Liverpool fans after his meteoric rise through the youth system to be one of the first-names on Jurgen Klopp’s side, but he justified being adored against Genk at the very least. The 21-year-old right-back not only showed off his breathtaking passing ability, with one Reds supporter claiming his passes were next level but he also impressed defensively with one highlighting how good his positioning had been. It’s no surprise that Alexander-Arnold wowed against Genk on Tuesday, as he has been in red-hot form all season. The right-back has averaged a rating of 7.41 across his 11 Premier League outings on WhoScored, and has contributed in an attacking and defensive sense. Alexander-Arnold has averaged 3.6 key passes per game, racking up three assists in the process, and has averaged 1.3 tackles as well as 1.6 interceptions per match in order to be a rock at the back (Source: WhoScored).
