OPINION

There is something special about the way Roberto Firmino goes about his business at Anfield in a Liverpool shirt. The Brazilian international goes under-the-radar somewhat behind the likes of Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah, even though there is no denying that he is equally important for the Reds. Firmino is influential in between the two African wingers and is the glue that keeps the front three together at points. The South American has completed 1.9 dribbles per game according to WhoScored – the most in the entire squad, and proof that he can be more effective without scoring as many goals. Thursday morning saw Liverpool post a video on their official Twitter account, sharing that on this day four years ago Firmino scored his first goal for the club under Jurgen Klopp. Many Liverpool fans went wild for the clip, with many saying the rest is history, whilst one even went as far to say that the goal was the start of a Reds’ legend.
