Chris Kamara has torn into Liverpool for the goal they conceded against Brighton on Saturday afternoon.

The Reds hung on for a 2-1 win despite going down to 10 men, but were left to endure some nervy moments in the latter stages after conceding from a quickly taken Lewis Dunk free kick that left Adrian stranded and caught the entire backline off guard.

And Kamara did not mince his words when analysing the incident.

Speaking on Goals on Sunday (December 1st, 11.30am, Sky Sports Premier League), he said: “This is the team that might actually win the league this season, and this for me is shambolic.

“Jurgen Klopp will get them in and have a real pop at them.

“This is quite incredible. I found this amazing when I watched this.”

OPINION

Ordinarily, you would probably say that Liverpool won’t want to see this one again, but in this instance, there’s a very good chance that Jurgen Klopp is going to be playing this one on repeat in training over the next couple of days to ensure that his players learn from their mistakes. This was a momentary horror show from the Reds, and on another day, had Brighton converted other chances that fell to them, then Liverpool could well have dropped two points that may prove vital at the end of the season. It’s almost pointless picking the actual incident apart, because it’s as plain on the nose on your face as to where the Reds went wrong. There was no concentration, too much bickering, and a general lapse in the commitment and professionalism that have catapulted them to the front of the title race. Hopefully, it’s just a one off, because if it happens again then serious questions must be asked.
