Naby Keita has been named in Tony Cascarino’s Premier League team of the week, as per The Times.
The £120,000-a-week ace [Spotrac] made his first start of the league campaign in the 3-0 win over Bournemouth on Saturday afternoon, and repaid Jurgen Klopp’s faith with a goal and an assist.
The result allowed the Reds to maintain their eight point lead at the top of the table, and extended the gap between themselves and Manchester City to 14 points.

Keita was simply superb on Saturday afternoon. He’s had to be patient this season, but he more than repaid that faith in him with a star turn for the Reds on the south coast. His goal was well taken, as was his assist, but it was the overall level of performance that will have impressed Jurgen Klopp the most. With three shots, three key passes, a successful dribble, three tackles, two interceptions, and a Whoscored rating of 9.16, he was on another level, and everything positive about the Reds seemed to flow through him. Of course, he has has been held back by injury so far this season, but now that he is fully fit and firing, the Kop will be hoping he can churn out a few more performances like this one. If he can, then Keita will surely be pushing for a starting spot every week.
