Swansea City are keen on completing a deal for Liverpool starlet Rhian Brewster, according to reliable journalist Alan Nixon.

The teenage striker has yet to make a Premier League appearance so far this season, and it’s understood that Jurgen Klopp is willing to allow him to leave on loan in January to help him gain senior experience, as per Football Insider.

And Nixon has claimed that the Championship side are plotting a swoop for him.

Writing on his personal Twitter account, he said: “Swansea chasing Brewster at a Liverpool”.

OPINION

This could be exactly the kind of move that Brewster needs. The youngster is an impressive talent, and one that has the potential to go to the very top, but he’s only going to get to that kind of level if he is playing regular senior football. Over the summer, it looked as if he could be awarded that opportunity by Jurgen Klopp, with the German electing to not bring in any new senior striking options. Instead, Brewster has largely found himself on the periphery, but for a couple of Carabao Cup outings. The fact that he has so much potential means that he is ready to try his hand in first team football, and somewhere like Swansea could suit him perfectly. Playing at a decent standard, with a good chance of playing most weeks – it could be exactly the shot in the arm he needs to get his career at Anfield up and running.
