Liverpool will have to do without goalkeeper Alisson for tomorrow’s Premier League clash against Bournemouth, as stated by Jurgen Klopp in this afternoon’s pre-match press conference and stated by The Athletic journalist James Pearce on Twitter [via @JamesPearceLFC].

Klopp confirmed (as per @JamesPearceLFC) that the Brazilian, who sat out Tuesday night’s FA Cup defeat to Chelsea, has damaged a muscle in his hip that will prevent him from lining out against the Cherries. It is the second injury suffered by the 27-year-old this season after a calf problem sidelined him for more than two months in the opening weeks of the campaign (as per TransferMarkt).

Adrian deputised for goal in Alisson’s absence at Stamford Bridge in midweek and gifted Chelsea their opening goal with a handling error, while Liverpool’s regular number one has let in just 11 goals in 20 Premier League games this season and has kept 10 clean sheets in the league, the second-highest tally in the division behind Burnley’s Nick Pope (as per premierleague.com).

Although Liverpool won every league game in which Adrian stepped in for Alisson at the outset of the season, these Reds fans reacted with despair to the news of the Brazilian’s hip injury:

How big a blow is Alisson’s absence to Liverpool? Can Adrian step up adequately in his place against Bournemouth? Comment below with your views!
