A number of Liverpool fans have been reacting to reports of a potential Anfield return for Philippe Coutinho, with many in favour of taking the Brazilian back.

As noted by @AnfieldEdition on Twitter, Spanish media outlet Sport claimed [via Daily Express] that the Reds could make a move to re-sign the 27-year-old if Bayern Munich do not take up their £109m option to sign him permanently.

According to Sport, the Bundesliga club aren’t overly keen on securing him on a permanent deal from Barcelona, whom Coutinho joined from Liverpool in January 2018 in a £142m transfer. According to the Daily Express, the Catalan club are willing to reduce their asking price for the player to £77m as they seek to offload him in order to add to their transfer budget.

The attacking midfielder scored 54 goals in 201 appearances during a five-year spell at Liverpool but, as noted by The Independent, his departure “was met with consternation from supporters” after he reportedly paid €10m (£8.83m) of his own money in attempting to force through his move to Barcelona (Mundo Deportivo, via Calciomercato).

However, with Liverpool failing to score in three of their last four games, these Reds fans on Twitter would welcome the creativity of Coutinho back at Anfield, with one supporter claiming he is a better option than Jadon Sancho, who has been linked with a £100m move to Anfield (as per Daily Mail):
