The Liverpool Echo has given an update on the futures of several players currently at the club, claiming that Pedro Chirivella is set to leave Anfield this summer upon the expiry of his contract. The news was later shared on Twitter by @AnfieldEdition, with many Reds fans lamenting his likely departure.

The 22-year-old was signed by Liverpool as an academy player in 2014 but has struggled to establish himself in the Reds’ first team, making just 11 senior appearances despite being given his debut back in September 2015. He has subsequently had loan spells in Netherlands with Go Ahead Eagles and Willem II in order to obtain more regular senior experience.
Chirivella has been given six first team outings this season, all in domestic cup competitions, and his performance in the FA Cup win over Everton in January was lauded by numerous Reds supporters. He made more passes (75) than any of his team-mates that evening and played 11 long balls, six of which were successful (as per WhoScored).
These Liverpool fans on Twitter weren’t happy to hear that the Spaniard looks set to leave on a free transfer, believing that he impressed during his occasional first team outings:
