A number of Liverpool fans have voiced their agreement with journalist Brian Reade after he shared a column he wrote for The Mirror praising the Reds on his Twitter profile @BrianReade.

The past week has seen Jurgen Klopp’s side miss their chance to emulate Arsenal’s class of 2003/04 by going an entire league season unbeaten (after defeat to Watford), as well as no longer being able to repeat Manchester United’s 1998/99 vintage by claiming a Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League treble (after losing to Chelsea).

However, in The Mirror, Reade countered by claiming that many Liverpool supporters simply want the Premier League title at Anfield come the end of the season instead of matching the achievements of the teams mentioned above. He also pointed out that the Reds are close to laying claim to the honour of simultaneously being English, European and world champions – having won the Champions League last season and the Club World Cup in December, Klopp’s team need just 12 points from 10 games to clinch the Premier League title.

These Liverpool fans on Twitter commended the journalist for pointing out the club’s achievements over the past year and the impending treble that they are on course to claim in the coming weeks, with one supporter believing that Reade “speaks sense”:
