The 21-year-old has already matched his 12-assist tally from last season in the current league campaign, renewing his record for the most Premier League assists from a defender in a single season. Only two players reached 25 assists in the competition at an earlier age than him. Also, aside from his 24 league assists since the start of 2018/19, he has contributed 11 ‘secondary assists’, i.e. passes which led to goal assists; while he has contributed to the highest number of passing sequences (65) per game of anyone to have played more than 900 Premier League minutes this season.
