Plenty of Liverpool fans have been reacting to a video posted by the club’s Twitter account @LFC highlighting the lofty performance metrics of one “generational” Reds stalwart.

Sourcing statistics from @OptaJoe, Liverpool shared a video containing some of the impressive figures posted by Trent Alexander-Arnold during his time in the Premier League, focusing primarily on his astonishing haul of assists in the division.

The 21-year-old has already matched his 12-assist tally from last season in the current league campaign, renewing his record for the most Premier League assists from a defender in a single season. Only two players reached 25 assists in the competition at an earlier age than him. Also, aside from his 24 league assists since the start of 2018/19, he has contributed 11 ‘secondary assists’, i.e. passes which led to goal assists; while he has contributed to the highest number of passing sequences (65) per game of anyone to have played more than 900 Premier League minutes this season.
