Many Liverpool fans have insisted that they would not be bothered if the Premier League season was forced to finish prematurely and any title triumph for the Reds came with an asterisk.
Anfield Edition on Twitter (@AnfieldEdition) asked followers if they would be perturbed by a 2020 Liverpool title victory being accompanied by an asterisk in the record books if the season cannot be completed, with numerous Reds fans delivering a firm response in the negative.
Would you care if our first Premier League title had an asterisk next to it?

Prior to the season being stopped seven weeks ago due to the coronavirus pandemic, Jurgen Klopp’s team had opened a 25-point lead at the top of the table and needed only two wins from their remaining nine fixtures to confirm Liverpool’s first league title in 30 years.
The Premier League is still hopeful of resuming next month if it is deemed safe to do so, although the French Ligue 1 was ended this week with PSG, 12 points clear at the summit, declared as champions with 27 matches played, 11 short of a complete season and two fewer than Liverpool had played in their league campaign.
These Liverpool fans on Twitter shrugged off the ‘stigma’ of an asterisked title, insisting that the Reds had comprehensively earned it due to the staggering lead they had built up between them and the rest of the league:
asterisk for a 25 point gap, makes sense

From 6th place down every team can mathematically be relegated, so they would all have to have an asterisk to show they are still in the premier league even thou they didn’t qualify naturally, so if it’s good enough for them, it’s good enough for LFC. ?CHAMPIONS ??

We’re 25 points ahead of the closest competitor & only need 6 points from the remaining 7 games. #LFC have been practising social distancing all season. It’s ours asterisk or no asterisk.

We deserves the tittle

We’ve won it fair and square regardless .so an asterisk is like “ok you can have it ” this time . we earned it !!.

The only asterisk should be against our points total… saying ‘achieved this high points total from only 29 games’.

We were about to be crowned champions. 2 league defeats in 2 seasons. 25pt lead. Title is arguably more deserved than ever
