Manchester United will rival Liverpool in the race to sign Leeds United star Raphinha, according to UOL.

The 24-year-old is enjoying a hugely impressive season for Marcelo Bielsa’s side, chipping in with five goals and assists apiece in the Premier League.

Liverpool have recently been tipped to make a move for Raphinha, but it now looks like they will face stiff competition from rivals United.

It is reported that the Reds have approached the forward’s representatives regarding a move, with Leeds set to discuss his future later this month, but United are also believed to be eyeing up a transfer.

L4L’S VIEW

Raphinha looks a perfect fit for Liverpool, at a time when Jurgen Klopp may be looking for attacking reinforcements ahead of next season.

The winger possesses Mohamed Salah’s ability to drift in from the right wing and wreak havoc with his left foot, combining great footwork, unpredictability and end product.

At 24, he is at a good age and could be considered a long-term option for when Salah’s best days are behind him, with plenty of time for him to improve further.

With Diogo Jota potentially the man to eventually take over the mantle from Sadio Mane on the left-hand side, Raphina could represent that figure on the opposite flank, as Klopp looks further down the line.
