Lauri Dalla Valle Match Report vs West Brom

27th Feb – Liverpool 0 – 0 West Brom (Academy Premier League North) – Lauri Dalla Valle was impressive despite a frustrating goalless draw against West Bromwich Albion at Kirkby Academy. Both Dalla Valle and fellow striker Michael Ngoo were a threat the entire match but they failed to break through the Baggies defence. Luke Connolly’s poor control put Dalla Valle through on goal within a minute of the start of the game but a last ditch tackle by Ashley Malcolm prevented him opening the scoring. The first half was an end to end affair and Finnish striker Dalla Valle had a golden opportunity but managed to stab a shot wide from close range after a headed flick on from a long ball. Chances continued to come the way of the 18 year old in the second half as just two minutes after the interval, a Michael Ngoo cut back only cannoned off his foot and away from danger. Both Dalla Valle and his strike partner Ngoo were becoming a real menace to the West Brom backline and they combined nicely to set Tom Ince away on goal but the young winger’s shot was expertly saved by Baggies keeper Ryan Allsop. Despite the multitude of opportunities, the game finished 0-0.
