Michael Ngoo Match Report vs West Brom

27th Feb – Liverpool 0 – 0 West Brom (Academy Premier League North) – Michael Ngoo stood out among the youngsters as the young Reds played out a 0-0 draw with West Brom. An open first half saw opportunities for both Lauri Dalla Valle and Krisztian Adorjan to score but the scores remained level. As the game came closer to half time, Ngoo also got in the act, showing his great control and dribbling skills in a mazy run that got him past three West Brom defenders before passing across the six yard box to Tom Ince. Unfortunately the ball was just behind the young winger and the teams went into the interval goalless. Ngoo was heavily involved in most of Liverpool’s good build up play and two minutes into the second half he got to the byline to cut back to Dalla Valle. Unfortunately, the Finnish striker failed to control the ball and the attack came to nothing. As the hour mark approached, Ngoo had a chance to score himself but his effort from six yards out was blocked by the legs of Baggies keeper Ryan Allsop. Not long after Ngoo again combined well with Dalla Valle to set Tom Ince away on goal but the young winger’s shot was expertly saved again by Allsop. A frustrating result but a good performance by the Reds and Ngoo.
