Italian Press: Reds tracking Inter striker?

|

According to reports in the Italian media, Liverpool manager Roy Hodgson is looking at Inter’s young Nigerian striker Victor Obinna. It was reported that the player could have been used in a player plus cash deal in exchange for Dirk Kuyt. Obinna had three successful years at Chievo Verona before moving to Inter. He was tipped as one of Nigeria’s hottest young talents but his career has stalled since he joined the Milan club. He has been given very little game time and was loaned out to Spanish side Malaga. It has been reported today though that the 23 year old has flown in to London to hold talks with West Ham so a deal involving the player does look unlikely. In other news, Alberto Aquilani has completed his season long loan move to Juventus, and he stated on his arrival:

“I am so happy to be back in Italy. Juve are a side that can challenge for the Scudetto. I hope we can do well, along with Milos Krasic. I returned for Juventus, but also so that I could recapture my place in the Italy squad. I have not yet spoken to Coach Del Neri, but I will do tomorrow. I hope to do well.”
