Rumour Mill: Reds linked with Dutch starlet?

Take this one with a pinch of salt if you like, it is from CaughtOffside.com, but Liverpool have been linked with a bid for Utrecht’s Dutch international striker Ricky van Wolfswinkel. The 21 year old has been chased by both PSV Eindhoven and Ajax and made his debut for Holland only last week againt the Ukraine. At 6ft 1, van Wolfswinkel is a powerfully built striker and has started off this season’s Eredivisie campaign well with three goals in his first two games. Roy Hodgson has been scouting a fair few options to shore up numbers up front and has apparently sent scouts to watch the youngster in recent weeks. The Utrecht man would probably be one for the future but he is highly rated in Holland and would cost in the region of £8million according to the website.
