Lee: “There’s a fine line between success and mediocrity”

|

Liverpool Assistant Manager Sammy Lee has defended the Reds’ start to the season. He said to Liverpoolfc.tv:

“It’s been a bit of a mixed bag so far. There are a lot of positives we can take from every game we’ve played and there have been some negatives, but we tend not to dwell on that. We know we are not 100 per cent right, but we are working very hard to try and perfect what we are trying to do. It is a period of transition and change. People need to embrace that change. It will take time and the boss has said that. The table is quite tight and only a few points separate a lot of the teams, but what we need to do is to start turning possession into goals. If we convert the chances we are creating then we will be okay. We can see what we are trying to get out of the players and it is very much a work in progress.”

Lee believes that although the league table doesn’t lie, they are not far off where they need to be:

“There’s a fine line between success and mediocrity. We are certainly working hard to make sure we are on the right side of that line. What we are trying to implement is difficult at this time but the fans are with us and have stayed with us. It’s important for the players because once they know they have the supporters backing them they will try to win even more for them.”

Nonsense. Liverpool have had less possession than ALL the teams they’ve face this season. They’ve also created very few chances. Sammy Lee mus be talking about the opposition.

Sammy Lee has been there long enough. I think John Aldridge or Steve Nicol should be the number 2 to Roy, or whoever replaces Roy.

No offence Sammy, but you were there during the end with Houllier and Benitez and did nothing to improve our terrible styke of play. So what is your purpose if you can’t influence the manager?

Funny how the word mediocrity sprang to Lee’s mind. Roy Hodgson, a mediocre manager? No way.

sammy should now be an expert on mediocrity

is kenny daglish criticism proof ? he is mates with purslow who got rafa out (not bothered he is gone) just the way it was done. now he talks about ground share – he wants to read the everton sites, the fans and the manager cant even call liverpool fc by its name, the horrible kenwright hates us, yes hates us – so why share anything with him !

It seems to have passed everyones attention that as soon as Sammy Lee was appointed we started going backwards, he brought his bolton tactics back to Liverpool and we are dull and boring. in my opinion its Sammy Lee who should be given the boot and get a proper coach in he plays good attacking pass and move football!

That’s rubbish swag. First season sammy came bck we finied second.
It was big sams bolton tactics, when sammy took over he tried to change them, upse senir players, hence the sack.
How do you know rafa and Roy won’t liste
