Rumour Mill: TWO Reds striker targets become available?

|

It is believed that two potential Liverpool transfer targets could be made available by their respective clubs in the January transfer window to finance moves for other players. According to Spanish newspaper Cadena Ser, Atletico Madrid are interested in signing Lyon’s Lisandro Lopez paving the way for the exit of striker Diego Forlan. Both Spurs and Liverpool are said to be interested in signing the 31 year old Uruguayan and any move by Atletico for Lopez could see either English club pounce for the prolific goalscorer. Meanwhile the Daily Mail is reporting that Bayern Munich are set to offload striker Mario Gomez to finance a £40m move for Wolfsburg striker Edin Dzeko. The Reds missed out on a loan deal for the German international in the summer but Reds boss Roy Hodgson is still believed to be keen on signing the 25 year old.

    We do not need an ageing striker. Henty has already covered this point quite succinctly this morning. If Spurs need to waste cash then let them go ahead but I somehow think that they are not stupid either.
    Dzeko is just about at the top edge of the age limit I think but it will depend on price. The time has come when clubs can no longer simply add millions on to the sale price as money becomes more and more scarce and prudence is the new name of the game.

    would like gomez for reasonable prise and would not pay over 15 mil for forlan

    Lopez & Forlan are either too small/too expensive/too old/just not good enough (pick and choose as appropriate)

    Neither would be particularly good signings to me. Gomez could be interesting though, although Suarez would be better as a partner to Torres, or as an option in a 3 pronged attack

    I REALLY hope we don’t bother with Forlan. He had a cracking season last year, and a decent World Cup, but he failed to make an impact last time he was in the Premier League and he’s too old to adapt now.

    Let’s spend our money on some CREATIVE wingers to support Torres in attack. If we had real wingers, we could use Kuyt, Ngog, Babel, Jovanovic and even Maxi as strikers (they’re all capable forwards, though Babel may have missed his chance), not to mention the young prospects coming through the academy.

    First things first;

    GOMEZ, Greedy with his high wages, and if your read between the lines, its clear that Mr Hnery said, regards to our way forward.
    he said we need to strong, aggressive but sensible with our spending, or along those lines.

    Why would liverpool turn to a player who is getting on, not getting any better and is not wanted by his current club, to then give this guy high wages which is what he would want, and to go him a contract make no businessa at all, it make more investing sense to go for a better younger player with more marketing around him and more years ahead in term sof the investmen and its clear these NESV ARE going to be clever and not waist money like rafa and the club has done for almost 20 years.

    Forlan- getting old, failed in prem last time, will not get any better and agian he will not come cheap in terms of s signing on fee plus wages plus transfer itself! no thanks for me, he is good but we need somone with fresh legs and who is younger with more lenght in their days ahead, relating to why the contract is worth drawing up.

    mata, young, turan, defour, coentrao, srna, cisshko, llorente, rossi, jovetic, banega, navas, capel, cardozo, javi garcis, martinez, (bilbao)david luiz, etc

  • vjm says:

  • soebi says:
