Dutch Press: De Boer opens door for Reds move for Suarez?

|

New Ajax coach Frank De Boer admitted in a conversation with Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf that he cannot rule out a move away from the Dutch club for their striker Luis Suarez. The Uruguayan international is reportedly unsettled in Holland after the departure of manager Martin Jol, and De Boer’s failure to rule out a departure has increased speculation about the 23 year old’s future. Such a statement could suggest that Ajax are encouraging both Liverpool and Tottenham to bid for the striker, and the Daily Mail reported this morning that the Reds could make the first move for the Uruguayan.

I have a mate of mine that was with me for years in the same class at uni, he is now living in Holland and a Ajax season ticket holder. I have known for around 6 months that Suarez’s first choice is Liverpool, not Spurs, like the media want to tink it is!!!

If Liverpool do not sign this type of player now, there is something very very wrong with the football club?

Suarez is just what my beloved cub needs. For me I have had enough of Liverpool mucking about and not soending money on real quality!!!!!!!!

Rafa was very on the money when he said that Liverpool are very slow of the market, we all know that Ajax need the money and regardless of who manages Liverpool next year, do you really think they wouldnt want players of Suarez’s capability in the squad…

Disgusting that Mr Henry is only flying over now from Boston,,, what was wrong with at the start of the jan window,,,, but Liverpool never ever learn do they,, they are so bad in markets,,, and for me we have even missed out on players like makoun, who villa are getting in for a cheap price of around 6,4 million,, we cant even spot players like that.

AND PEOPLE WOUNDER WHY WE ARE WHERE WE ARE???? THINK ABOUT IT…

What are NESV doing at the club. They’ve come in and made it clear that they want the club to be successful and want us to be challenging at the top but yet, they’re not spending money on transfers. They’ve spent more than 100 mil on Boston Red Sox for two players but they’re doing nothing to help Liverpool. We badly need some top quality players to come in this January if we’re to push for at least a top six finish. Suarez is young and fits NESV’s policy so what are they waiting for. Give Kenny the funds and let him make a couple of world class signings this January.

‘What are NESV doing at the club. They’ve come in and made it clear that they want the club to be successful and want us to be challenging at the top but yet, they’re not spending money on transfers’ what??????

if you know anything about football you’ll know that you can only buy in the jan trans window and summer. so its 13 days into jan, and based on prev seasons, very little action happens in the first 3 weeks. come back to reality. this isnt football manager, get off your laptop! give the owners a break, give the players a break and start supporting your team if you are a true fan!

      • billl says:

Spot on. only Man city have bought players and too my knowledge we were in the bidding to sign Dzeko but lost out. You cannot say the owners will are not be spending money 13 days into the transfer window. if come the end of the summer we still havent spent at least £40m i will be worried though!

      • Eric says:

“very little action happens in the first 3 weeks” what? So you’re saying all transfers must be left till the last week? If the owners actually acted and gave Kenny the cash we’d have Dzeko or some other world class striker by now.

    • Al says:

The new owners have not been at the club long and Football is new to them. They are however intelligent and do have good pedigree, they need time to make things work and there will be no instant fix… accept it!

I agree it would be nice to have players of Suarez’s calibre and moving forward i do expect to see this type of player at LFC.

Our fortunes will turn just not in an instant!

      YNWA

  • smarts says:

Give Kenny the cash and lets get Suarez, Juan Mata, Elia or Turan and two defenders!

  • Big Will says:

WHY IS THERE NO TALK ABOUT THIS GUY???…HE IS THE S**T!!!!

Forget wannabe “Mike (Luis Suarez) Tyson” and his foul temper.
    KARIM BENZEMA IS OUR MAN!

He can do amazing things with the ball. Everyone who watched him when he played for Lyon knows it. He is the kind of player we, the fans want to se at Anfield. If we get him and a couple of world class talents, the likes of Ricky Van Wolfswinkel at 21 and 17 year old Lukaku we will be sorted up front, and probably don’t need to buy another striker aged more than 19 for many years to come. 50 million is a lot of money I know, but I think we will then have permanently terminated our No. 1 problem as this will give us at least 3 world class strikers and more to follow within the next 3 years. Maybe then we can start talking about letting Torres go!

If we in addition sell off the non performers (Babbelibaba, Jovanowichever, PaulusPilatus, Koncheknzky, and so on) and start giving our talented youngsters as the likes of Pacheco, Shelvey, Spearing more playing time. If we include the money coming in for Aquilani we might bring in another 40-50 mill.

We will need a lot more flair in midfield in able flanks. And we need a few defenders CD & LB.

We should opt for buying two world class flanks, but maybe not in January. We might have to wait for the right players at the right price. There are a few very talented midfielders/wingers around, but I think the really good ones that would fit the bill have gotten to much attention lately and will probably be priced to high to give good value for money. While we wait for the right deals, we should go for the “off casts” from crazy spending clubs like Flatchested City, Chelski, and Real. This will be decent players in the mould of Wayne Bridge, Shaun Wright-Phillips, Adebajor and so on. They already have proven they can hold their own as we wait for the talented youngsters like Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain we will buy now in January to come of age. Another option will be free transfers as the likes of Steven Pienaar,

For LB the answer is quite obvious Fábio Coentrão. 16-20 mill.

As for CDs, I would rate Brede Hangeland from Fullham as being underestimated and probably not as expencive. He is the same kind of player as Vidic, who I think has been fantastic for Flatchested United the last couple of seasons. He might not be every bit as good as the Serb, but still much better than today’s options Skrtl. Another very interesting prospect is Davide Santon

In addition we should keep up the work being done at Melwood with developing and attracting young world-class talents. If we could crown that work by bringing just a few of the very talented youngsters we have been linked with lately, the future look indeed bright.

I think Dalglish will be able to utilize some of the experienced players we have now until we can sell of maybe half the Squad of today.

    KEEP:
THE FOLLOWING ESTABLISHED PLAYERS SHOULD STILL BE AROUND AFTER 3 MORE YEARS:
REINA – JOHNSEN – CARRA(as part of the staff) – AGGER if we can get him firing at all cylinders again – KOYT after we have turned him in to a pit-bull fighting-machine of a defensive midfielder – STEVIE will be world class until at least 34 – MEREILES if we can play him at what he is good at – TORRES – TORRES –TORRES NO DOUBT ABOUT IT HE IS REALLY A REAR GEM!!!!

    SELL:
EVERYONE ELSE THAT TODAY IS PAST 25 YEARS OF AGE EXCEPT THE RESERVE KEEPER!

THEESE ARE THE KIND OF PLAYERS WE SHOULD BE LOOKING TO GET

    KARIM BENZEMA (20 MILL)
    ROMAN LUKAKU (20 MILL)
    FABIO COENTRAO (16 MILL)
    KEISUKE HONDA (15 MILL)
    ELJERO ELIA (15 MILL)
    DAVIDE SANTON (12 MILL)
    RICKY VAN WOLFSWINKEL (10 MILL)
    PER MERTESACKER (10 MILL)
    ALEX OXLADE CHAMBERLAIN (5+5 MILL)
    RYAN SHAWCROSS (8 MILL)
    BREDE HANGELAND (7-8 MILL)
    CHARLIE ADAM (5 MILL)

ANOTHER FANTASTIC PLAYER IS EDEN HAZARD, BUT 30 MILL C`MON!!!!!

  • hMs! says:

Liverpool have to buy , Sakho 20, M´Vila 20, Coentrao 22, Hazard 20, Lukaku 17 and Chamberlain 17 all young players

    • ScouserTommy74 says:

      I agree, to a point…

These aforementioned players ARE young, AND are exciting young players, but they are ALL in well established squads with no pressure on them…
Could this be said if they came to Anfield??

In my opinion, we need to be getting more experienced players who are maybe in the latter stages of their careers as a short term fix while we are moulding these younger stars of the future into the “Liverpool way”

Anyone remember the impact in the past that more mature players have had on our team ??

      Gary Mac
      Jari Litmanen
      Christian Zeige
Fernando Mori…. ok maybe not 🙂

      but you get my drift…

NESV need to, and are probably looking at these possibilities, and if they are to be trusted to do the same job as in Boston, then I’m all for giving them my backing HOWEVER long it takes…

      ….as long as it’s not another 19 years !!!

  • i dont know why our club LIVERPOOLFC uptill now they are still mentioning some of the best players names without signing them, and with the story of SUREZ so they will be moving arround till some other club sign such a talented player, other clubs have started bring in new players to their squard but for liverpoolfc they are after mentioning the players and go away if the new owners doesnt ready to bring liverpoolfc back they should look for anther buyer.

  • m kop says:

This is the player Liverpool needs.
Also a winger and a defender would be great, but for now Liverpool would be enugh just with 2 signigs, but those must be major signigs.

  • steve says:

  • DaveWestAus says:

LFC shud b owned by the ‘FANBASE’. the’second coming’ of ‘yanks’ will only take the profits to b used elsewhere!!! FACT !

  • Chambers says:

I do not believe that we will be buying anyone in this transfer window. Any profits are being used to reduce the effect of debt reduction when NESV took over. This is their quiet way of lowering what they spent on acquiring the club. We had better get used to the idea that we are NOT baseballers and therefore are not a priority to that outfit. Dare I say another consequence of having American owners?

  • gavin says:

    bring back aqualani i say!!!

  • Red4life says:

Since the new ownership have taken over they have said they wanted to do this the liverpool way and not airing laundry in public like the previous regime.

We all new Roy wasnt the one for our beloved club and we all said who we preferred. How many of you thought Roy would go last week and predict the King would get the job? None of that was aired in public but done behind closed doors to a certain extent (the Liverpool way).

The same applies for transfers, we can all speculate and I think over the last few years we have come used to that along with the national papers Liverpool-bashing (totally unfair as if it was MancScum they’ll be opposite).

Im sure they are looking and speaking with options, not hap-hazard options but calculated options on who will make us better.

    The King knows best !!!!!

    • Kev says:

RedforLife… Thats the best response ive read in months. Couldnt agree more. What do some of these muppet fans want, for us to announce who we want BEFORE agreeing a fee so the clubs can hike up the prices ?? How often do Utd or Arsenal announce who they are buying BEFORE a fee has been agreed. Rest assured the owners are doing the right thing LONG TERM.
