Rafa confirms why he won’t be leaving England

|

Former Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez has stated why he won’t be leaving England in search for a new job. He told Spanish daily AS:

“Yes, I’ve made it clear that my priority is the Premier League. The kind of football, the way things are run, the respect shown to the coach and above all how it is organized, professional, methodical, we have a project and work to a plan that best fits the dynamic of the Premier League. Here’s more time to do things. I learned in England to manage budgets, a template that you have to sell to buy in England is understood and appreciated more. In the Latino culture it is going week to week and that’s not good. Here it is said that six months is too early to see results and that is unthinkable in the Latino culture.”

Benitez has been linked with a return to Valencia in recent weeks.

YNWA Rafa, would be great if Rafa and Kenny could work together, they would compliment each other perfectly, with Kenny’s man management and Rafa’s tactical skills, they’d be unstoppable.

    • Dede says:

We surely already have the two in place that is Steve Clarke and King Kenny we don’t need Rafa with his ego it was bad for the team. He inherited a good team in Inter look what happened in just six month every one wanted out. Rafa sorry your chance expired.

without all the internal difficulties at the club i do think rafa could of either won the title or consistenly challenged at the top.

    Paul – Spot on mate!

Rafa is a top manager and would be welcomed at any capacity at Anfield 🙂

    Lol..
First season – Champions League winner
    Second season – FA cup
Third season – Champions League runners up
Fourth season – Premier League runners up
Fifth season – turmoil @ Anfield, loads of debts hanging… Anfield in a state of crisis.

    Net spent in -ve!!!

How can you compete with chelsea, city, united at that rate??!!!! Do you have any solution to that… Please feel free to tell us.. Awaiting a response..

      Just some correction dude…..

it was his 5th not 4th season that we were premier league runnerups.

      6th not 5th season was a turmoil.

Looks like you think that rafa stayed for 5 years, infact he stayed for 6 yrs.

And net spent was not in zero in 6 years….it was around 80 million

Forget the hype and the biased media coverage. Look at what Rafa did at Liverpool at a very bleak and difficult time.

He gave us the “Europian nights” at Anfield, 2nd in Premier League, EUFA Champians League finals and semi-finals and the FA Cup.

He stood up for the club and supporters against money grabbing owners and thier lacky (Purslow), who brought Hodgeson to replace him.

I believe that Rafa’s legacy will be the Academy which he transformed, bringing a certain Mr Dalglish in as an Amassador. We are also starting to see the results as several players are starting to break into the first team.

So,for me, Rafa although not perfect (but who is) will be remembered as great manager by the LFC faithfull. Rafa YNWA

I firmly believe Fenway Sports missed a trick in not appointing either Rafa Benitez or Gerhard Houllier as Director of Football.

In respect of Rafa he has experienced, first hand, the difficulties that club managers have to deal with and would respect and work with Kenny to ease his burden without interfering with his managerial functions. He also has the respect of the greater majority of Liverpool fans and is in love with the city.

Gerard also is a dyed in the wool Liverpool fan with a long history of association with the city. He also is highly respected by the fans and has won many trophies for the club. I would love to see him back with the team he loves.

LFC need to bring ‘RAFA’ back,he’s Liverpool thru & thru !!! I don’t think KK,(love him)has what it takes to manage European games! Rafa is the perfect tactician for that! But they would work perfectly in ‘tandem’! PLEASE BRING “RAFA” BACK !!!
Forget about ‘Anfield’ redevelopement! A new stadium in ‘Stanley park’ is the way to the ‘FUTURE’ for this club!

  • Brian says:

    Oh no!
I also loved Rafa, but look at the football we were playing! Yes, he gave us something speciel, but there were to many flops, who never settled in the Prem. Thanks for the memories but i love the new style with total football. PS. Don´t blame his results on the ownerw, he had plenty of time, but Rafa was, sorry to say,”only” a very smart cupman and you don´t get any cigar to finish second….

    • G says:

      erm..

we’re not playing total football mate..in fact..when you look at some of the recent games..i.e. braga..we weren’t playing anything.

we have some way to go before our real pass and move style can be implemented and effective in games.. I feel once we have new additions and have the first team management situation confirmed, then we will start to truly see the direction the first team is headed towards.

lets not get carried away with the type of football we’re supposed to be playing..as it has only been displayed in brief patches so far..

once the liverpool style of play..or indeed liverpool way has been restored on the pitch fully..none of us will be in any doubt

  • Anthony says:

Wise up people. Rafa was not the man for Liverpool. I for one would not welcome him back to Anfield in any capacity. We don’t need him. For now, Kenny is the right man for the job. Let him mentor Carragher to take over in time. Rafa is a trouble maker, he wants his players to be yes men and his football is boring to watch.

  • Voland says:

Rafa is an excellent manager and the best that Liverpool have had since Kenny Dalglish himself. The right man for Liverpool now is Dalglish, but when the great man is ready to take a backseat there are few (if any) managers out there who would be better for Liverpool than Rafa.
