Skysports.com is reporting that Liverpool, along with a host of other clubs, are interested in Caen striker M’Baye Niang. Here are ten facts about the Frenchman.

1. Niang was born on 19th December 1994 and is still only 16 years of age.

2. His talent was noticed at 13 years of age when playing in the Poissy youth team. Caen’s youth team scouts David Lasry and Laurent Blaize received a tip off about a kid with a great physical presence and good technically ability and they were impressed enough with what they saw to sign him up.

3. At 15, he was promoted to play for Caen II in France’s fourth division. The step up in quality didn’t faze him and he scored an impressive 5 goals in 16 games playing against players far older than him.

4. His displays were noticed by France and was called up to play for France’s U16s, scoring 3 goals in 6 games. He has also featured for France’s U17s.

5. Niang made his debut for Caen’s first team in their Ligue One match against Toulouse back in April. He came on for the last 13 minutes in the 1-1 draw.

6. He was given his first start for Caen by manager Franck Dumas in the following game against Nice. He was youngest ever debutant in the club’s history and helped the French club seal an important 4-0 away win.
