LFC jonjoNORWICH City have identified Jonjo Shelvey as a summer transfer target, according to reports in The Daily Mail.

The Liverpool youngster, who is currently in Israel for the European Under-21 Championship, signed a new long-term contract with the Reds last summer.

But Canaries boss Chris Hughton is ready to test Liverpool’s hold of the 21-year-old, with a £5million bid that could rise to £8million.

Shelvey joined Liverpool in 2010, after Charlton accepted a bid of £1.7million for the midfielder. But the youngsters progression at Anfield has been slow, with Shelvey struggling to make any real impacts in the Premier League.

The former Addick scored just 1 goal in his 19 league appearances, but the Englishman did manage to score 4 goals in the Europa League group stages this season, including a brace away to BSC Young Boys for Brendan Rodgers’ men.

Shelvey was in the spotlight for the wrong reasons this season too. The midfielder was given a straight red card for challenge on Johnny Evans in Liverpool’s home defeat to Manchester United, before then having heated words with United manager Sir Alex Ferguson. Shelvey later started using the ‘glasses celebration’ as reference to the moment.

The youngster could feature in England’s next Under-21 match against Norway on Saturday afternoon.

The glasses celebration has nothing to do with football. It’s because of the fact that everybody in his family wears them except him and he’s just taking the *.
He explains this in an LFC video.

Shelvy is not measuring to liverpool standart at the moment but should be given a chance without depending and puting much presure on him that might end up woeking against his development for the feature.

Let him go on loan as he went to blakpul and picked form. He wil be de best to replace our own steve Gerrard. He has de potential of bcomin a epl star, jus a matter of time and psychological mpowerment. Sometyms playing in a team nd fightin for a position which blong to a senior class player like gerrard is not easy to attain. So am sure he ll get beta as tym goes on. YWNWA!!

I just pray that COATES and SHELVEY are not sold. They shud be loaned to premier league sides only. Also suso, robinson and raheem. These talents may haunt us in future if they are sold. They need extra minutes. Look how we are missing INCE!
