The perfect time to sign perfect players for LFC

LFC playersNO European football on offer at one of Europe’s greatest clubs. Not likely in the bookies eyes (or any rational human being’s either) to win the league or even challenge.

A new era has dawned, one of not paying over the odds for transfers and to agents.

If reports are to be believed then no one gets crazy wages and everyone has a note worthy performance related aspect to their pay packet. Do well and earn your money at Liverpool FC or go elsewhere.

The ‘star’ striker is walking out the door and media interest is at a comparative all time low. As long as Suarez doesn’t do something else as mad as a box of frogs the media will not be talking about LFC. We’re not being tipped for anything, not winning the league or relegation…it’s relatively quiet on all fronts.

The stage is set to attract real football players. No invites to mercenaries who leave their home town clubs early for the big pay day. No knock on the door for players who feel they’ve only got a few years left in the tank to pile on the pounds and pence.

The time is like it once was when the likes of Sami Hyypia turned down being in the Champions League with a smaller club just to play for LFC. The stage is set for men with such foresight to come, play and build their own records and make their own history. Brendan Rodgers has a clear vision of his type of player and the style of football. The expectations and so pressures are at an all time low thanks to successive disappointments. The football itself is attacking and has the recipe for success.

The time is right to find players who sit out of the spot light, players who can come in and grasp the opportunity to play for the most successful club in British history. Liverpool FC is Europe’s sleeping giant. The owners have woken up and now have a plan. The scouting system is all set up. The manager has bedded in. His style has been imprinted on his team.

The opportunity to be a Liverpool FC player and all that goes with being at one of the world’s most iconic clubs is there for the right players. All the tools a real footballer needs to succeed are there with sky being the limit. A huge fan base to mobilize waits to be reinvigorated and shake off the cloud of negativity that has engulfed us all.

Liverpool FC need to stick to their new found principles and will miss out on the talented players who are prepared to take the higher wages of other clubs and not get on the pitch. Those who value instant guaranteed success at the expense of actually playing football every week will not sign for us – amen! Those with self belief and who want to make their name will come and do well.

The time is right to be positive. Great things start now.

An armchair fan who loves the stadium experience but likes the bread and butter of replays, moronic pundits, a drink in a pub atmosphere. LFC is my religion.

Common sense is missing from football but the situation is always complicated so I endeavour to give opinion and encourage discussion and thought about LFC.

I like unheard players.. Who knew our current number 10?

    • Charlie says:

Err…everybody who knows anything about football. He played for inter Milan not Tranmere rovers !!!!!

  • Erin says:

I see we have signed a Sunderland player… Brilliant, that will replace a keeper that is moving upwards , barca . Skertel soon to leave for a CL playing team somewhere and in comes Ashley bloody Williams. Reasons to look forward to next season???

    • Ozred says:

We improved under Rodgers this year and will be better again next year
      Coutinho
      Sturridge
      Kelly
      Mkhytaranian
      Aspas
Further improvement from hendo, jonjo, sterling, suso, wisdom etc

There’s a few reasons to look forward to the new season. That and getting to watch your team run around each week.

No. Another season of mediocrity awaits , as we fall even further behind the top clubs

No we didn’t, we went to wembley 3 times last year and won a cup, even with Suarez misfiring, Gerrard injured and lucas as well. I am sorry, but as a fan, I consider last season to be more successful and unless you are an accountant or something I don’t understand how a trophy-less season, in which we could NOT beat any of the big boys(bar spurs, once) is an improvement. Maybe if the club and certain fans stopped trying to re-write history, then maybe I might not be inclined to believe that this club has been employing spin doctors.

I’m tired of new players hyped to all be ‘the new messi’ and just be untidy!

I don’t care who we sign and what others say. I’ll make up my own mind on how good they are when they wear the LFC shirt.

One think I do prejudge on is price. Any player bought for more then £8mil n I’m concerned. Any player paid £70k+ a week and I’m concerned. More risk if they fail n we try to move on!

  • Raam says:

G.Houlier-El H.Diouf, R.Benitez- A.Aquilani,R.Hodgson-C.Poulson and few others,K.Dalglish-C.Adam and now B.Rodgers- J.Allen.Does anyone remember the hype and promises when they arrive? Far far far away from perfect!

anyone who wants to go should be allowed, cos at the end of 2011-2012 season skrtel wanted to leave and BR ceased him. And he cost lfc top 4 last season.

    • paullfc30yrs says:

Who did?, It certainly was not Skrtels doing, we had Suarez on fire, We had won all the big boys the season before, went to wembly three times, and Skrtel was playing great, the foundations were there to finish fourth, I agree, but it was not down to Skrtel that we didn’t achieve that aim…I apologise if I jumped the gun, and you were not in fact putting the blame on Skrtel.

  • paullfc30yrs says:

Why do I keep hearing fans saying “Good times ahead”, Why?…Our best player is leaving. Like I said before, this club never used to be about spin, but since last season started, that’s all we have heard. I am, along with most other “realist” fans, very concerned about where we are heading. Most fans seem to base the fact that “we don’t need Suarez, on a few wins against relegation fodder at the end of the season. I just wish we could go back to being honest.

    • red says:

Judging from sub standard players BR is signing, his job won’t last too long in coming session. And our aging Gerrard could be helpless this time.

  • Denis D says:

The owners and B Rodgers need to stand firm on L Suarez, he is a clown and an idiot and he needs to hand in a transfer request , then the owners and Rodgers need to accept no less than £60M. If Real Madrid have offered Tottenham over £65M+ for Bale and had those bids rejected. Suarez is better than Bale anc Currently 3rd best player in the world at the moment.

With that said Neymar was sold to Barcelona for £61M, so Suarez should be sold for no less than £65M.

And the only deals the club should accept should be: £45m and Benzema, Higuain, Modric Or Di Maria in the deal.

Moratta is not proven yet and the owners and Rodgers should not accept any deals with Real madrid unless it either of the players above mentioned in th deal.

Suarez desperately wants to leave, he claims and keeps talking talking talking. Can’t the clown just shut up. And show the club and us fans some loyalty and respect, If Real Madrid wanted him so badly they would have wnet for him first instead of Bale and Cavani. But they have not even made a bid for him yet, Only Suarez keeps opening his big mouth day in day out. Shut up Suarez you clown!!!!!
The Owners and B Rodgers need to stand firm and should not sell him for no less than £65M to Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Monaco or PSG.

Other than that £65M on he is not allowed to leave, then with A Carroll to bring in £15.5M, and hopefully Downing can be shipped out for £7-£10, Assaidi should be sold for £2-£4M to Ajax, Borini should be shipped out to fiorentina for £7-£10M , Coates should be shipped out for £6-£8M and Spearing to be sold to newcastle or Palace for £3-5M, Flanagan should be sold for £1-£2m and B Jones should be sold for £1-2M and If P Reina doesn’t want to stay at club, he should be swapped with C Tello(21) and £2M cash.

Then Rodgers would have a huge war chest plus £25-£40M off the owners and there would be alot of spaces to fill:

And these are the places that need filling: to add strength and depth all over the squad, so we have healthy class quality competition at club for every position:

2 / Two GKS To compete with one another: S Mignolet(25) Of Sunderland for £7-8M and A Mccarthy(23) Of Reading for £5-£7M to compete with one another for the no 1 Position ( Total: £12-£15M) Two Good Goalkeepers for next decade competing with one another

3/Three centre backs are needed to compete with AGGER, Skrtel and Toure both Agger and Skrtel need to be kept at club at all costs: A Pearce(24) Of Reading on free Transfer, K Papadopoulous(21) Of Schalke for £9-£12M and Tiago llori(20) Of Sporing Clube De Portugal / Lisbon for £2-£5M (Total: £11-£17M) Then club would have centre back strength on par with uniteds: Evans, Jones, Rio, Smalling and Vidic.

A Left Back: A Cissokho(25) Of Valencia for £4-£6M to compete with Enrique

A Defensive Midfielder: E Capoue(23) Of Toulouse for £7-£10M to compete and Cover Lucas ( Capoue would be able to match the physical power and strength of the strong powerful midfielders who have caused us problems in the league: Diame, Mikel, Mulumbu, Nzonzi, Sissoko, Tiote and Yaya Toure.

A Centre Mid: De Guzman(25) Of Villareal for £5-£7M to compete with Allen, Gerrard and Henderson. De Guzman would bring more goals to side from centre midfield and is a box to box centre midfielder with good engine, passer, good at getting stuck in and a very good player to have at club.

2/ Two Attacking Mid: I Munian(19) Of A Bilbao for £10-£14M and H Mkhitaryan(24) Of Shaktar Donesk for £18-£22M to compete with Coutinho and Suso. Some more class, creativity, goals and quality from hole behind the striker / between the lines.

Two Pacey, quick, skillful goalscoring wingers:
A RW / RWF: C Tello(21) Of Barcelona for £8-£9M to compete with Sterling

A LW / LWF; D Capel(25) Of Sporting Clube De Portugal / Lisbon for £4-£7M to compete with IBE

    2/Two Forwards:
FD: L Muriel(23) Of Udinese for £10-£12M to compete with Aspas and Sturridge
FD: D Ba (28) Of Chelsea for £5-£7M to compete with all the forwards at club, then instead of two good strikers in first team, club would have 4 competing with one another and they would all offer something a bit different from one another.
