Time running out for Fabio?

LFC ItalyAFTER a poor beginning to his Liverpool career following his £10.5m move from AS Roma, could Italian striker Fabio Borini be offered an escape route, just one year after becoming Brendan Rodgers’ first signing at the club?

According to the Italian media, Lazio are fast becoming the latest admirers of the young striker, whom starred in the recent run of the Italian u21’s to the Final of the European Championships in Israel.

Following in injury-hit first season at the club, Borini has come under some criticism amongst supporters as still we wait for some of the star potential we were promised, to turn into the reality of a star striker to push towards a ‘top four’ place this season. The latest reports of a £12m move for the 22 year-old could represent a chance to re-ignite his career in his native Italy.

Marco De Marchi, Borini’s agent, has suggested that the striker would prefer to stay and fight for a regular place at Anfield. However he did suggest an interest from the Italian side.

De Marchi told Radiosei: “I can confirm that Lazio sporting director Igli Tare has always been a fan of Fabio, but I have not had any contact with Lazio.”

Yet with Brendan Rodgers seemingly looking to raise funds for possible moves for Danish playmaker Christian Eriksen, as well as an unlikely move for Valencia’s Roberto Soldado, the possibility of a move for Borini cannot be ruled out.

Borini just isn’t as good as the players around him. He has little glimpses of skill but he’ll never consistently play good imo and doesn’t link up well with players he plays with. He should go back to Italy and play in a weaker league.

    • Steven says:

Totally agree! Fiorentina and Lazio are apparently keen… Much rather play Ibe or Sterling out of their position in place of his! At least they can hold the ball up and take players on!

  • allaboutanfield says:

If Borini stays fit and not get injured , he would be a decent plan b .

  • Bernie says:

Where’s the £20 million gone that Rodgers was to be given to spend? After the sale of caroll and shelvey we have spent a net £3million and yet we are trying to raise funds for eriksen??
The only difference between these American owners and the last lot is that this lot are a bit more media savvy,

  • Wolex says:

They should stop the attitude of raising Money, and get want they wanted may God help us

A club left by the likes of song, van persi, and many more because of there unsuccess. Pls let him go and stop draging the image of my club to mud. Crap!

    • Leon says:

I love LFC but we aren’t exactly great at keeping hold of our players. Imagine what the squad would look like if we had kept Alonso, Mascherano and Torres.

Sell Borini please. He is rubbish

I can’t believe anyone is stupid enough to pay that much for him , except Rodgers of course

  • red says:

    Sell Borini ASAP !!!

  • Raam says:

We are good at buying traitors.

  • Raam says:

So, kick that ungreatful backstaber asap and bring in the players needed so that we can move on. Heard we’re going for Luis Muriel, but i say go for Yilmaz as well. LFC have to proove to everyone especially to the Uruguayan,LFC is much2 more bigger and ambitious than any other club. Suarez is a chicken whos just jealous of Sturridges goal scoring prowess. Goals ratio prooves Sturridge was better than Suarez.

    • Jack says:

      What a moronic comment.

If you really believe Sturridge is better than Luis then you haven’t a clue about football

      Get a grip you dimwit

  • Brigadier says:

Another ‘young up-coming talent’ looks like he’s failing under Rodgers. Bodgers thinks he’s a talent spotter but really he’s just guessing.

  • REDDY says:

Sell Suarez that traitor for (55mil) and Borini (12mil), Downing(8m) Allen (8mil). That’s 83mil !!! The owners were going to spend 30mil on players so that 103mil !… Buy Jackson martinez/ Benteke(20mil), Yilmaz (15mil) , Erriksen(15mil), Bernard(17mil), Diame(3mil), Alderwield(15mil), Ally Cissohko(5mil) and still have 13mil Spare…. Champions league destined! … N just to show MR Suarez who we are! YNWA 🙂

  • Raam says:

Jaxk, put supermans initial behind your name.! Will suit you perfectly.!

  • Kay says:

”yet with BR seemingly looking to raise funds for possible move for Danish playmaker Eriksen”means the owner have not give BR anything to spend on any player…GO FSG

  • Denis D says:

The thing is our club have too many dead wood average hardworking players in the squad that B Rodgers need to show the door this summer:

    8 in total:

GK B Jones RB Flanagan CB Coates

DM Spearing AM Pacheco RW/RWF: Assaidi

    LW/ LWF: Downing FD: Borini

Those 8 players would all struggle to get in Fulham, Norwich, Southampton, Swansea, West Brom and West Ham’s First 11, so how are these players still at the club?

Rodgers should ship all of them out this summer and he could bring in £23-£27M on those 8 players.

Along with £35-£50M the owners need to give Rodgers to strengthen side.

And the £55M plus club should and may get selling Suarez.

Rodgers in shipping out those 8 dead wood average hard working players and the sale of one of a world class striker who is currently the 3rd best player in world football at moment, would bring club £80m plus in.

Then with the owners £35-£50M , Rodgers could have £115M to £130m to spend on bringing in more class and quality players to club.

And now P Reina has been loaned out of club, that would mean 10 players out.

And the players needed to strengthen club and squad are as follows: 10

Five Defensive players: For Now and Future: To Offer more Quality Competition and Depth: For combined total of : £31-£48M

1: GK:A Mccarthy(23) Of Reading should be brought for £4-£7M to compete with Mignolet
2:CB: K Papadopolous(21) Of Schalke should be brought for £11-£16M to compete with Skrtel
3: CB: T Alderwierld(24) Of Ajax should be brought for £6-£9M to compete with Agger and Toure
4: LB: A Cissokho(25) Of Valenica should be brought for £3-£6M to compete with Enrique
5: DM: E Capoue(24) Of Toulouse should be brought for £7-£10M to compete with Lucas

Five attacking positions: For combined total of: £58-£83M

6: AM: I Munian(20) Of A Bilbao should be brought for £12-£16M to compete with Alberto and Coutinho

7: RW /RWF: C Tello(21) Of Barcelona should be brought for £9-£15M to compete with Sterling

8: LW / LWF: Bernard(20) Of A Minero should be brought for £17-£22M to compete with Aspas and IBE
9: FD: L Muriel(23) Of Udinese should be brought for £10-£14M to compete with Sturridge

10: FD: P Cisse(28) Of Newcastle should brought for £10-£16M to compete with Muriel and Sturridge
