THE Liverpool Echo are today reporting that Liverpool are expected to bring in at least two players before the transfer window slams shut on Monday evening.
Liverpool continue to be linked with Chelsea winger Victor Moses and PSG’s Mamadou Sakho as the need for reinforcements becomes even more pressing after the Capital Once Cup victory against Notts County at Anfield.
Brendan Rodgers’ idea to pick an almost full strength team backfired as Liverpool suffered injuries to Kolo Toure, Joe Allen and Aly Cissokho.
Not only that, but they were taken to extra time and finished the game with ten men after Toure’s injury.
Liverpool have been linked with numerous players over the past month but Moses and Sakho have now appeared to be the two most likely.
Rodgers would prefer both deals to be permanent switches but there is the real possibility that both players could arrive on season long loan deals.
Chelsea will not sanction the sale of Moses as of yet but with the apparent interest in former Liverpool target Christian Atsu of Porto, there is every possibility of Chelsea reviewing their stance on Moses.
There is far more reluctance from PSG to sell Sakho, however, with the player refusing to sign a new contract Liverpool will hope that a deal can be struck to bring the centre-back to Anfield.
With Toure out for a month and Martin Skrtel and Maritn Kelly both not at full fitness, there is a real need to sign a new centre-back.

We need urgently the services of Sakho and
a holding midfielder. Our midfield should consist of Gerrard, Coutinho and a playmaker. Lucas is useless.
U dont understand soccer if u lucas is useless. How defensive midfeilders r better than him in the epl?
Lucas is overrated! His tackling is rash and he gives away too many free kicks in dangerous positions.
That’s why when he got injured last year we suffered the most .
I bet you any money that is he gets injured again we finish mid table if we don’t have suitable cover for him . And yes we need three players and are still waiting for that big signing FSG promised

Our problem in the cup tie was due to the absence of a defensive midfielder as Brendan couldn’t field one and only Lukas. In that regard Papa is a better signing as he can cover that position if we only make two signing.

Everyone mentions how important he is and how he’s an integral part of the teams spine…didn’t you see Southampton’s third goal last season? Lol He joined the club in 2007 and everyone (including me) gave him pelters as he was absolute *. Then, give him credit he had a handful of good games with the stand outs being against Man City and Chelsea before getting injured long term…Oh an I almost forgot to mention that pass against Newcastle…4 *years ago! Lol
Well, since his return it’s like the messiah has come home..! It’s embarrassing, everyone at the club is falling at his feet..saying what an inspiration he is and how he’s improved..really? *me, I’m obviously watching different games to every *else…he’s even been made an ambassador for the club!? Haha
If he was making clean tackles, controlling matches and chipping in with assists and goals I would agree..but come on, people talk about stats, his stats on the LFC website show a 50% tackle rate..! Played over 200 games and scored 6 goals. All I see is missed tackles, needless fouls in dangerous areas of the pitch (which ultimately lead to goals) and a severe lack of pace. For all those in the Lucas fan club, if you have time, take your red tinted glasses off and watch the whole 90mins of the Spurs game last season, the team carried him..! He gave the ball away countless times and Dembele and Bale ran circles around him..
Put it this way, I’ve heard some idiots liken him to Mascherano..unbelievable! Lol If he is, why aren’t Barca (or other teams) offering £20m for him? Because he’s *..! Also ask this, would Lucas get in any of the top teams midfields as a first choice..no chance..! If Fergie had bought him in 2007 he would of sold him by now..! But not LFC, I heard he’s being earmarked as future captain..!?! *hell..and people wonder why we haven’t won the league since 1990..!

Here we are seeing FSG true colours.. They promised big signings last summer and then left short until the Jan. window and the same is happening all over again. They grumble on a million here or a million there,( sakho, PSG want 12 mil., FSG say only 8)..too slow.yet they splash 70 mil. on another invetment and show no respect to the millions of LFC fans buying the merchandise and eternally hoping for better times.
Sometimes I feel I could do time to wipe out these yank parasites…lets hope they prove me wrong, buy Sakho, a left midfielder of some note maybe Damiao as well and expose this rant as immature nonsense!
