THE Liverpool Echo are today reporting that Liverpool are expected to bring in at least two players before the transfer window slams shut on Monday evening.
Liverpool continue to be linked with Chelsea winger Victor Moses and PSG’s Mamadou Sakho as the need for reinforcements becomes even more pressing after the Capital Once Cup victory against Notts County at Anfield.
Brendan Rodgers’ idea to pick an almost full strength team backfired as Liverpool suffered injuries to Kolo Toure, Joe Allen and Aly Cissokho.
Not only that, but they were taken to extra time and finished the game with ten men after Toure’s injury.
Liverpool have been linked with numerous players over the past month but Moses and Sakho have now appeared to be the two most likely.
Rodgers would prefer both deals to be permanent switches but there is the real possibility that both players could arrive on season long loan deals.
Chelsea will not sanction the sale of Moses as of yet but with the apparent interest in former Liverpool target Christian Atsu of Porto, there is every possibility of Chelsea reviewing their stance on Moses.
There is far more reluctance from PSG to sell Sakho, however, with the player refusing to sign a new contract Liverpool will hope that a deal can be struck to bring the centre-back to Anfield.
With Toure out for a month and Martin Skrtel and Maritn Kelly both not at full fitness, there is a real need to sign a new centre-back.

Bring in a holding mf and a defender! Should be achievable at the moment. Attacking wise, there is no time. Most big clubs have snapped up the best attacking players.

Take a look at Spurs? Are you sure? Sure, they’ve spent £millions this summer, but that is all being financed by the Bale sale. He’s their best player by a country mile and will be gone before the window closes. This would be the same as us losing Suarez and I for one would not be happy.
What Spurs have (finally) done right, is allow the manager to bring in reinforcements (spend the money) before the deal is done and prices go through the roof. Earlier today,reports came out that Spurs is also in talks for Eriksen. At first i thought AVB and Spurs show real ambition, but the way they are grabbing every living soul available now look more like madness. They’ll be heading for trouble if dont reach CL by the end of season. LFC on the other hand back to making the same mistake like last season. Only 4 days left and no sign of any new players coming. Not worried about Allen but Kolo and Sisokho is realy unfortunate.
