liverpool-champions-league“It’s all over and the Reds have done it; a 24-year hoodoo has just been broken and the decibels of the famous ‘You’ll never walk alone’ anthem is deafening… Liverpool has won its 19th Premier League title”

These are words that every Liverpool fan craves and would be dying to hear at the end of the season but most, maybe not all of us, will not hear it this season. The last sentence I heard from our last massive victory at Istanbul was “he’s got the weight of the world on his shoulders, they’d be no second chances if Shevchenko misses”.

Every other word after the save was insignificant and I didn’t hear them as I was busy jumping all over the place, kicking the sofa and tumbling over the furniture. I didn’t even mention waking up all the neighbours! But like Istanbul, we can watch recorded videos when the emotions are back to normal to finally enjoy a season which has seen us surpass even the most optimistic optimism of even the most optimistic fans. Nobody can blame us for not being overly positive as the last two decades in the league have taught us that vital lesson of never being overly positive about our chances.

At this point, we should resist the temptation of getting too far ahead of ourselves and face the reality that we have at least five cup finals to go to be crowned champions again. Brendan Rodgers himself has made it clear that he only thinks about the next match, which is amazing, and has worked thus far and will hopefully lead us to the trophy.

When “Captain Fantastic” finally lifts the Premier League trophy over his long overdue scalp, I may fail to hear the commentators’ remarks (of what importance is it anyway), but I will never fail to break my 2005 Champions League celebration record by putting up a show in the neighbourhood. And better still, there is a neighbour who supports Liverpool this time! I will not walk that celebration alone this time.

What an article! A clear show of how England and the rest of the world of Reds will rumble the moment the final whistle is blown. I for one will put up a show of the century…too bad I have no one to do that with within my neighbourhood

Would very much fancy my chances of disturbing the tranquility of the neighbourhood if this 24-years miracle happens because i’ve gat some very cynical neighbours who are life-long LFC haters always taunting me with words like “YNWA (you’ll never win again)”… It’s only my prayers that this happens because Nigerians seem to be amongst the set of football fans that are well skilled in the act of ridiculing a struggling club like LFC… Am not one known to rejoice over a particular kind of epidemic but i’ll joyfully celebrate whatever cardiac arrest follows our potential & imminent triumph as i envisage a mass epidemic of sort to accompany our triumph… C’mon you reds, make us dream ..#You’ll Never Walk Alone

Seriously, when we win it this year, I’m gonna love seeing the faces of the haters in my office !!!

Many paundits like Phil Mcnulty wrote us off the top4 race. But now we are title contenders. A lesson to I.T.K British paundits.
