The fans choice for many, but Klopp is not the only one reportedly keen on the Liverpool job

It probably wouldn’t be anywhere in his top five favourite lines to read prior to what has been billed as the biggest game of Brendan Rodgers’ Liverpool career but according to reports, several of the top managers in European football are forming an orderly queue to replace him.

Starting with one that hasn’t been named to much recently, Frank de Boer, Ajax manager, has spoken fondly of the club this week. The former Dutch international has managed the Amsterdam-based club for the past five years, winning four league titles in that time and he is believed to be looking for a new challenge after this season.

The former Barcelona defender mentioned LFC this week, saying that it is a fantastic club and speaking very positively indeed. The timing of his comments are quite telling however, considering that Rodgers’ future is very much on the line, at present.

Elsewhere both Carlo Ancelotti and Jurgen Klopp have again been heavily linked with the Reds since Friday afternoon, with Ancelotti reportedly having met representatives of the club in New York this week. Ancelotti has indeed been in NY too, making those claims quite interesting, as pictures of his surfaced with former players of his: Frank Lampard and Andrea Pirlo.

The former AC Milan and Madrid manager has spoken before of his admiration for Liverpool and the clubs’ fanbase, with many claiming that he would be the clubs’ first choice, should Rodgers be sacked.

On the other hand, there have been equally as many reports that Klopp will be the next Reds boss, with reports that he met with club officials after he supposedly traveled to the UK to speak with an unnamed Premier League club. Obviously, that means there are as many as twenty clubs that he could’ve come to speak to, it it’s even true, but the conclusion most jumped to was that he was coming to Anfield.

It cannot be reiterated enough that these reports are all based on unverified claims, other than the fact that Frank de Boer did speak of his admiration for the club, and Ancelotti was actually in the Big Apple. But with Rodgers’ position looking likely to be untenable if the derby is lost tomorrow, at least one of those links may become reality in the next seven days.

Do you believe Rodgers should be sack and, if so, which of the above three would you prefer to manage LFC? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.

    Dear Sirs / Madams,

FSG will not fire BR, he is there little tube boy. I have a better solution for FSG send BR out on load like he does with the player that we purchased, this way he learn his trade and than we can sell him to highest bid that we receive. This way FSG can show a profit on BR and save face. in the mean time get JK, CA, or any other proven manager with a solid plan. BR will understand the loan move for him and send Allen with him, his done this so many players. This will be a win win for FSg, WE CAN ALL LIV IN HOPE!!!!! .YNWA

Here in africa, nigeria to be precised have concluded for long that Bredan rogers is not qualified coach enough to be handed the helm of affair to coach a club of this magnitude. WE WERE ONCE A KINGDOM OF LFC now being reduced to a club of no football status. We learnt a valuable lesson of not entrusting an established entity to an untested individual. Almost immediately i have doubt about rogers pedigree

Brendan Rodgers first press conference following his loan move from LFC to sunder land in the wake of Dick Advocaat’s resignation :

“If you look at my records at Swansea and Liverpool you will notice I can bring out the best in any team, from championship to promotion and from 7th to 2nd with most goals scored respectively, I haven’t lost my identity. like my previous employers this is a new transition and bedding in period, so the fans have to be patient and support us at all times

Sunderland football club is a very huge club with great tradition and wonderful fans who believe in the philosophy we are trying to impose on the players.

The players need to be bold enough to kick the ball around and dominate possession. we are looking to complete a few loan moves in a few days time. players like the Welsh Xavi will bring character t
o the team and turn the STADIUM OF LIGHT to a fortress where we can kill off teams with our death by football philosophy”

for how long shall we wait on BRENDAN RODGERS improvement and changes while others are fast climbing the table and gainig points with our LFC…
I believe in changes, we should try other hands than a MANAGER without trophy in his ‘3years’ career in liverpool…
Its never been like that for the past 50years…..
