GK/Defence
Simon Mignolet – No explanation needed, at this stage.
Martin Skrtel – It would be tempting to rest both centre backs at this stage, with the list of injuries the club currently has and the amount of games in the run-up to Christmas but the pair have been in and out prior to Klopp’s arrival and a sustained spell together will do them both good.
Mamadou Sakho – Looked cool and calm on Saturday and appeared to be playing in a much more relaxed way under the new manager. Like Skrtel, the temptation is to rest him but needs must, at the moment.
Nathaniel Clyne – Under the current manager, his role isn’t likely to require him to bomb up and down the flank quite so much but he will be expected to run more, no doubt. That said, the full back appears to be just getting warmed up.
Alberto Moreno – Enjoying his revival at the moment and was just pipped to our Man of the Match by Lucas on Saturday. Has been superb all season and will hopefully show the more attacking side of his game tonight.
With Klopp’s preference a 4-2-3-1 formation I would give Allen and Can the call for midfield with Ibe,Lallana and Firmino in the attacking third, with Origi as the lone striker with Jerome Sinclair as a direct substitute if Origi does not deliver, and thereby resting Coutinho,
I agree with the defence selections.
Why pick a 4-3-3 line up when klopp will play a 4-2-3-1 surely play ojo on the wing instead of allen
