How Liverpool should lineup against Bournemouth

|
Sakho should be back in the starting 11 tonight

As much as we’d like to, wholesale changes is not what Liverpool’s defence needs right now

GK/Defence

Simon Mignolet – Despite Adam Bogdan being the hero of the last stage, it seems churlish to drop the first choice keeper whilst the new manager is bedding in. The Reds defense has already improved markedly since Klopp’s arrival so taking out the established number one, particularly against fellow Premier League opposition, would be a bad start.

Kolo Toure – Following a run of three games in seven days since Klopp joined the club, Skrtel may now be feeling the effects. If he isn’t, he surely will be by the time Chelsea at Stamford Bridge rolls around first thing on Saturday. For that reason, we’ve taken the bold decision of resting him in favour of the experienced Kolo Toure.

Mamadou Sakho – Sakho has been going from strength-to-strength under Klopp, a huge improvement in such a short space of time. Luckily, Sakho has played little compared to Skrtel this season and should be given the chance to continue building on his good form.

Connor Randall – The youngster has featured in first team squads in each of Jurgen Klopp’s first three games, and it’s likely that he may well get his chance this evening, with Nathaniel Clyne given a break after having already played 13 games this season. The 20 year old is clearly in Klopp’s first team plans, at least with the squad so thin so we’d vote to give the lad a start tonight.

Alberto Moreno – With both Skrtel and Clyne left out, it wouldn’t be wise to make wholesale changes to the back line and, at just 23 and not having featured from the start much until Klopp arrive, Moreno should be able to handle tonight’s game and Chelsea on Saturday morning particularly if his 100mph performances in the last three games are anything to go by.
