2. Andrea Ranocchia (Inter Milan)

Rumours over a loan switch or even a permanent move of roughly £6m – Liverpool certainly seem to have some interest in Andrea Ranocchia at least.

Though without doubt a naturally talented defender, Ranocchia is not without his problems. He can spread panic in defence with some of his decision making, while there seem to be doubts in Italy over his mentality, with Inter Milan stripping Ranocchia of the captaincy and handing the duty to Mauro Icardi for this season.

Nevertheless, he has been praised by the likes of Marco Materazzi and Javier Zanetti, while Klopp reportedly wanted Ranocchia when he was in charge at Dortmund, and perhaps could help the 27 year old Italian to cope with the demands of Liverpool.

Again the deal seems fairly cheap, with the player out of favour in Italy, with any deal freeing up squad space and wages for Inter boss Roberto Mancini, and potentially some transfer funds to boot.
