Udinese are prepared to offer midfielder Piotr Zielinski an improved offer to stay at the Italian club, according to Gazzetta World, the English language version of the Gazzetta Dello Sport newspaper.

The website believes that despite having met the asking price of €12.5million, the Reds could miss out on the Polish international as Udinese have second thoughts and reconsider their position on the player.

The Reds have been pursuing the 22 year old for a number of months, with Napoli also looking to sign the midfielder. Although the Reds matched Napoli’s bid for Zielinski, the Naples based side also included defender Juan Camilo Zuniga in their offer, a player that Udinese’s sister club Watford are interested in. This led to Udinese rejecting Liverpool’s offer whilst accepting Napoli’s.

It is believed that Napoli are now waiting for Zielinski to make his mind up with a meeting between the player and his agent Bartlomiej Bolek to resolve his future expected in the coming days before he goes on holiday. With Udinese now offering him an opportunity to stay, the situation has just got that bit more complicated.
