The need for width at Liverpool has been one of the most prominent topics of discussion surrounding the club for a serious amount of time.

Indeed, when you really think about it, before Sadio Mane arrived at the club we probably haven’t had a top class winger for a serious amount of time and that has really hurt us at times over the years.

Having Mane arrive, though, has unlocked all manner of new possibilities going forward and you can surely argue that we should be looking to sign more wide-men in the near future.

In fact, we’ve been linked recently with Ivan Perisic of Inter Milan by Gazzetta dello Sport but that looks to have been ruled out as quickly as it occurred by Inter’s sporting director Piero Ausilio. He said (via The Daily Star🙂

“He is part of a massive project and we do not want to sell our players.

“We cannot envisage an Inter without Perisic.

“We are not going to get rid of our best players.”

The Croatian worked with Jurgen Klopp at Borussia Dortmund, of course, but a reunion is looking unlikely now.
