The unfortunate case of Daniel Sturridge has continued today with Jurgen Klopp saying there is no chance of the striker starting against Everton this weekend.

The England international has been out for some time and there were some murmurings yesterday that he was back in training ahead of the clash with the Blues tomorrow.

Those reports, though, have proven wide of the mark with Klopp confirming there is still some way to go before he’s back in the line-up.

Speaking at his press-conference today, and as quoted by The Mirror, Klopp said:

“No chance. I heard he was back to training but I don’t know who gave this information. He is working with the rehab coach. No chance this weekend.”

There we are, then, not that we’re surprised, as it appears the striker is set to be out for some time longer yet.

Will he ever play for us again? Only time can really tell.
