Speaking to Anfield HQ, Simon Jones has revealed that Julian Brandt has a contract release clause at the moment and it certainly seems very affordable.
The Reds, we’re hoping, are going to have a busy summer window this time around with hopefully the carrot of Champions League football on offer, too.
That would surely mean we attract some of the best players in the world to Anfield once more whilst the youngster Brandt also has the potential to become a star.
Indeed, The Mirror has linked us with Brandt of late, and he certainly fits the profile of what Jurgen Klopp wants from a potential new signing.
He also wouldn’t break the bank as things stand either with Jones saying: “He has a clause allowing him to leave for £17m in 2018.”
We might be able to strike a deal with Leverkusen this year or next, then, if we really want to bring him in and so the ball seems very much in our court at the moment with this one.
