As quoted by FourFourTwo, Ousmane Dembele has revealed that he spoke with Jurgen Klopp last year before moving to Borussia Dortmund in the summer.
The young striker is one of the most exciting talents in Europe and it appears we could have had a chance to sign him last summer, had Dortmund not already managed to secure a deal with him.
Indeed, it appears Jurgen Klopp was late to the party in trying to get this one done and that certainly seems to be unsurprising given what happened in January.
Nevertheless, there’s no point dwelling on that now and perhaps in the future our German boss will be able to secure a deal with the talented Dembele.
The former Rennes man said:
“I saw Klopp in Paris but I told him I’d made up my mind to sign for BVB.”
Another missed opportunity, then, and we can only hope that this summer we do not see a repeat of such a late show from the gaffer.
