As quoted by Talksport, Danny Murphy has said that the Reds should accept a bid of £80 million or above from Barcelona for Philippe Coutinho.

The tricky Brazilian has been subject to increased speculation over his future of late with it seeming as though Barca are determined to try and bring him in.

Even so, the Reds’ position is that they do not want to sell at all – though former player Murphy thinks that should have room to change.

Indeed, he thinks anything at £80 million or more should be accepted by the club.

He said:

“If Barca are prepared to pay over £80m for Coutinho, I think that’s good business.”

Certainly, then, Murphy thinks the Reds should be open to selling but we’re still hoping that he stays put for this season at least now that we’re back on the brink of the Champions League.

Ultimately, though, it’s up to the club to decide what happens.
