According to The Independent, Liverpool are aiming to beat Spurs and Southampton to Ben Wilmot from Stevenage Borough in League Two.
The young defender has really broken through this season for Stevenage but is therefore attracting a move away to a club further up the leagues.
Indeed, it looked as though Tottenham were in pole position to sign the player but it now appears that they are stalling and the Reds could steal in.
Certainly, it wouldn’t be the first time of late where we’ve beaten one of our top four rivals to a player’s signature and even though he is a young player it would still be a positive sign.
Of course, there is still a long way to go before anything happens for sure but the Reds are lurking and if Tottenham don’t act we could end up in the driving seat.
