Liverpool could be interesting in a summer move for Real Madrid attacker Marco Asensio, according to Don Balon.

The Spanish news outlet claims that the Reds, Manchester City and Manchester United would all be willing to go all out to sign the 22-year-old playmaker.

It is understood that a potential exit for the left-winger would hinge on who Madrid sign in the summer, with Chelsea’s Eden Hazard and Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah mooted as targets.

The report details that the future of the Spain international will depend on any new arrivals, but he is attracting a number of suitors.

Good move for Liverpool?

Asensio is one of the best young players in world football and it would be a sensational deal if they managed to get him at Anfield.

The Merseyside club must obviously keep talisman Salah at all costs, but if they chucked Asensio into the team too they could be a real force.

The left-footed attacker has had to endure spells in and out of the starting XI, but would be a guaranteed starter under Jurgen Klopp.

He has 11 goals and six assists in 52 games in all competitions this season, and those numbers would improve with more game-time.

Likely to happen?

Don Balon doesn’t have the greatest track record when it comes to transfer speculation and it seems unlikely that Asensio will end up at Liverpool, .

He is one of the prized assets at the Bernabeu and is seen as one of the successors for their ageing squad that have dominated Europe in recent years.
