Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey reportedly faces an uncertain future at the Emirates Stadium, which is why Liverpool should be waiting in the wings and lining up a bid to sign him.

The Sun reports that the Gunners could sell the 27-year-old this summer if he does not sign a new contract before next season, as his existing deal is about to enter its final year.

It is understood that the Wales international is yet to commit to a long-term contract with the North London club and is at a stand-off with them.

The report details that Ramsey’s representatives have been in talks for months about extending his deal and that there has been “no real progress” in that time.

Arsenal may invite offers for the £40million-rated sensation this summer if his future remains up in the air, as he is determined to improve his current £100,000-a-week contract.

Liverpool should seize the opportunity to launch a move for Ramsey and he would be a brilliant addition to the squad at Anfield.

Ramsey, who was once dubbed ‘the next Steven Gerrard’ by Ray Parlour, can be one of the finest players in the Premier League when he is on form.

The central midfielder could fill a gap in Jurgen Klopp’s side and they will need extra cover following the injury to ex-Arsenal ace Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

Ramsey is a box-to-box midfielder that can offer a real goal threat with his technical ability.

He has made just 32 appearances in all competitions this season for Arsenal, scoring 11 goals and supplying 12 assists in return.

Klopp needs to be brave this summer to help Liverpool kick on to the next level and should seriously sanction a £40million bid to sign Ramsey, someone who can be a marquee addition ahead of next year.
