Leicester City are reportedly on the verge of signing Norwich City midfielder James Maddison and this is something that could come back to bite Liverpool.

Sky Sports claims that Premier League 2015/16 champions Leicester are set to announce the signing of the 21-year-old on Tuesday from Championship outfit Norwich.

It is understood that the England Under-21 international passed a medical with the Foxes on Monday and has agreed personal terms ahead of a £22million switch, which could rise to £24million with add-ons.

The report details that the attacking midfielder has been an in-demand player this summer with he likes of Southampton, Everton, Fulham and West Ham all in pursuit.

Meanwhile, Premier League giants Liverpool, Tottenham and Manchester City have also scouted the creative playmaker after a dazzling campaign for Norwich in the recent season.

Maddison looks likely to be a Premier League star next season at the King Power Stadium, but Liverpool are making a major mistake by not ensuring Anfield is his destination.

His price tag could double if he enjoys a strong first campaign with Leicester and the Reds are making a blunder by not picking him up now.

He is a midfield maestro that has drawn comparisons to Tottenham’s Christian Eriksen with his style of play and he looks destined to play at the top level, with his football brain really standing out in the Championship.

Maddison scored a remarkable 15 goals and supplied 11 assists in 49 appearances for Norwich in the recent season, while he is only going to get better over the next few years.
