Bayern Munich midfielder Corentin Tolisso dreams of playing for Liverpool, according to Calcio Insider.

The news outlet claims that the 23-year-old would love to end up playing at Anfield in the future and has previously expressed his love for Reds icon Steven Gerrard.

He only linked up with German heavyweights Bayern last summer and helped them win the Bundesliga title at a canter in his first season.

The central midfielder scored 10 goals and supplied seven assists in 40 games across all competitions, while he also started France’s first game of this summer’s World Cup in the 2-1 win over Australia.

OPINION

Liverpool have already bolstered their midfield options this summer with Fabinho and Naby Keita, but supporters would surely love to add Tolisso too. He is developing into a truly world-class midfielder with Bayern and made an immediate impact at the Allianz Stadium during his first campaign. The pass master has managed to break into the French national team alongside N’Golo Kante and Paul Pogba, which just shows how much quality he possesses. Tolisso is a goalscoring midfielder that does have a few similarities with his footballing hero Gerrard and it seems like there could be some truth in him wanting a Liverpool switch at some stage in his career. However, it seems unlikely he is going to depart European giants Bayern after just one season and would surely have a massive price tag over his head. Jurgen Klopp already has a wealth of quality options in the centre of the park to choose from going into next year, which is why this is likely to lead to nothing in the near future.
