Many Chelsea fans took to Twitter in order to lick their lips over the prospect of their side playing Liverpool on Saturday after Klopp issued a fitness update on his squad.
The eccentric German manager shared, as stated on the Reds’ official website, that Trent Alexander-Arnold and Georgino Wijnaldum were fit for the trip to Stamford Bridge at the weekend but Virgil van Dijk remained a doubt.
The centre-back has not resumed training as of yet after having an issue with ribs flair up during the 3-0 win over Southampton last weekend and that decision will be made about whether he can play as close to the fixture as possible.
After hearing that Van Dijk might not play, lots of Blues supporters celebrated on social media with one cheekily tweeting fearing playing Eden Hazard was a legit injury.

OPINION
A large number of Chelsea fans are rubbing their hands together as they believe their side can now get all three points from Saturday’s clash against the Reds. While one confident supporter doesn’t believe their side’s victory is in doubt even if van Dijk plays, others clearly thought he could be a player that earns Klopp’s side a victory. The Blues defeated the Reds 2-1 in the EFL Cup on Wednesday but both will be making several changes to their teams that played in that game and it should be a close game on Saturday. If Van Dijk is to miss Saturday’s clash then it will be a bit of a worry for the Reds as he is by far their best defender however Klopp has options to play instead of the Dutch colossus and most of them will have a point to prove. While one Blues fan believe all they need is the defender not to face them, they’re acting naive as the Reds still have a side capable of steamrolling Chelsea even without van Dijk.
