Liverpool have not had the best time of it recently in terms of injuries, with James Milner, Sadio Mane, Mo Salah and Virgil van Dijk all suffering with various issues.

However, this is a good opportunity for manager Jurgen Klopp to really test his squad, with Liverpool proving their title credentials if they manage to keep up results despite these key injuries.

Luckily it does not look like any of these players will be missing for a long time, with all four potentially in contention to return this weekend, but that does not mean that Klopp should risk them against Huddersfield.

This is a perfect chance for Klopp to blood some of his more rarely-seen squad members, with the Terriers yet to win a game in the Premier League this season.

One area where changes will inevitably be made is in midfield, with Milner unlikely to be risked despite his swift ongoing recovery from a hamstring strain.

Summer signings Naby Keita and Fabinho have both been confined to a bench role for much of the season so far, and one of these two will likely deputise for the 32-year-old on Saturday.

Guinea international Keita is the more likely choice, with the £52million signing looking more at ease in English football than Fabinho, who has been eased into action slowly.

Keita started well at Anfield before his performances dipped alarmingly and he was dropped, but this weekend’s match is a perfect chance for him to blow any doubts away.

Huddersfield will be there for the taking at the John Smith’s Stadium, and a match-winning performance from the under-fire 23-year-old could fire him into contention for a more regular starting role under Klopp.

His ability to contribute at both ends of the pitch is something which will make him a star at Anfield, and the quicker he showcases that ability the better.

Saturday is a big chance for him if he is selected, and he must take it with both hands if it comes.
