Somehow, despite not spending too much time on actual football pitches, this has been the season of Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi.
The 18-year-old has enjoyed a meteoric rise over the past several months which has seen him become the focus of a tug of war between two of the biggest clubs in Europe and earned him plenty of headlines.
Now, it appears that Liverpool are preparing to enter the fray for the teenager once again. Christian Falk, a journalist of German publication Bild, announced on his personal Twitter account on Thursday that the Reds are still interested in Hudson-Odoi. This coming after Falk’s paper linked Jurgen Klopp’s side with a January move for the youngster.

This is a potential signing that would surely delight the Anfield faithful. Hudson-Odoi is widely regarded as one of the hottest prospects in Europe, a tremendous talent with pace to burn and an exciting eye for goal.
He is in fine form, too, despite the limited amount of football he has had under Maurizio Sarri this term. He’s scored in each of his last three Europa League games, putting both Malmo and Dynamo Kiev to the sword in routine Chelsea victories.
Imagine him linking up with the likes of Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane, it’s enough to get any Reds supporter salivating. A 4-2-3-1 formation with Hudson-Odoi, Firmino and Mane in support of the Egyptian ace is positively tantalising.
The player’s youth, as well, is obviously a massive plus for any prospective buyer. Liverpool would be buying someone who could anchor their attack for the next decade plus.
It would be extremely difficult to convince Chelsea to sell the youngster to one of their direct rivals, though. They would likely ask for a monstrous fee even if they were to consider parting with him. The player, though, would surely love to link up with a manager in Klopp who has a proven track record of improving players.
So while these are only the very earliest of stages in Liverpool’s Hudson-Odoi hunt, the club’s supporters will surely be over the moon to even be linked with such a phenomenal young talent.
