Liverpool should look no further than Nicolas Pepe as the summer transfer window approaches after the forward has been linked with a move to Anfield.

According to Le 10 Sport, Liverpool have put Pepe on their shortlist of players to target in case Mohamed Salah left, but they should pursue the attacker regardless.

He is ideal for Liverpool, and they should go all out in trying to sign Pepe before he is persuaded by any other club as the transfer window approaches; as his form in his 2018/19 campaign will likely attract suitors.

The 23-year-old forward has been more than impressive this season in the top French division, scoring 20 goals and registering eleven assists in 36 league appearances for Lille.

This shows exactly what he can do on the pitch, and he would fit perfectly in the Reds squad which is often full of counter-attacking, quick players just like Pepe.

This would also be good for Liverpool’s squad depth, and would be perfect for when certain players pick up injuries and need to be replaced by a player of a similar nature.

However, the only possible stumbling block in signing this out and out goalscorer would be his price, which is no doubt likely to be mouthwatering considering the player’s age and goal record.

Although this is a big ask for Jurgen Klopp to spend a notable amount on one player, when the club already has a number of wingers, he would be an unbelievable addition to the current Liverpool squad, and would no doubt give the Reds a much better chance of bringing home the Premier League title next season.
