Liverpool strikers Divock Origi and Rhian Brewster will surely be feeling relieved following the latest report on Jurgen Klopp’s stance over his forward options this summer.

According to a report from the Liverpool Echo, Liverpool have decided not to Werder Bremen striker Max Kruse, with Klopp electing not to block the potential pathway for Brewster and also keen to keep Origi involved after the Belgium’s impressive contributions last term.

That will be a major boost to the pair, with Liverpool arguably in need of recruiting a new forward this summer to provide back up to Roberto Firmino, following Daniel Sturridge being released at the end of his contract.

However, after Origi has enjoyed an impressive season for the Reds, after returning from the cold following a disappointing loan spell with Bundesliga side Wolfsburg in the 2017/18 season, the need to sign a replacement for Sturridge is not as great as it might have been.

Origi was instrumental in Liverpool’s title challenge in the Premier League, managing to score crucial late winners against both Everton and Newcastle to keep Klopp’s side in touch with Manchester City, before the Reds finished just a point adrift of the Premier League champions.

The Belgium international also made a crucial impact to Liverpool’s Champions League triumph, with the forward registering the late winner against Barcelona in the Reds’ historic semi-final win against the Spanish side, before netting the all important late second goal in the final against Tottenham in Madrid.

That suggests that Klopp is now rightly prepared to allow Origi to be a crucial member of his squad for the start of next season, and the Belgium has more than earned this reward for managing to rescue his Liverpool career last term.

Brewster, meanwhile, will be thrilled if the report is true that Klopp is not looking for a new forward this summer, with the 19-year-old hoping to make an impact for the Reds next term.

Klopp will be making a statement about his belief in Brewster’s potential to develop into a key figure at Anfield, if he does not opt to recruit a new striker, which should give the promising striker renewed confidence ahead of next season.
